Survey about heat pump and refrigeration systems
Currently, a survey is being conducted to gather information about large-scale heat pump and refrigeration systems as a basis for the development of digital-twin based services. The survey is conducted by DTU and DTI and comprises manufacturers, consultants and end-users.
One of the first activities of the project related to heat pump systems is to perform a survey to obtain information about large-scale heat pump and refrigeration systems in operation. By contacting utility companies, manufacturers, technicians, owners, contractors, operators and consultants, it is expected to incorporate some of their experiences to understand common practices and challenges with heat pump and refrigeration systems. The information obtained will be highly beneficial for the development of advanced methods for fault detection and diagnosis as well as operation optimization.
Some of the topics that will be asked in the survey will be the general characteristics of the systems (e.g. nominal capacity, application, or configuration), issues or alarms that occur when the systems are in operation, maintenance activities that are regularly performed and strategies applied for control purposes.
The Danish Technological Institute and the Technical University of Denmark are the institutions in charge of carrying out the survey. The outcome of this survey will contribute to a better understanding of the challenges faced when operating large-scale heat pump and refrigeration systems. This will help us targeting the development of digital twins based on actual requirements from the industry.
